This book acted as <em>a new gateway into the Graeco-Roman world for medieval Islamic culture, and its influence on Islamic historical knowledge was very strong (it was used and quoted by several important Arabic historians and geographers).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>English translation and commentary<\/strong><\/span> of this text constitute a useful tool for further studies on the subject and, more in general, for a reflection on the topic of the Arabic vision of Graeco-Roman history.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Orosius, Seven Books of Histories Against the Pagans (Arabic Version), Vol. I: Arabic Text and English Translation,\u00a0 Vol. II: Commentary, Appendices and Bibliography by Marco Di Branco, Pisa University Press, Pisa 2024.
